October 20 (Tuesday)- Former Attorney General, US Senator, Secretary of Interior and US Ambassador to Mexico, Ken Salazar, will be doing a book talk and signing at the Arvada Center from 5:30-7 pm. Ambassador Salazar's book, Borderlands: My Fight for an Inclusive America, draws on his family's centuries-deep roots in the San Luis Valley and his lifetime of public service. October 22nd through October 25th. Friends of Jefferson County Library Foundation Fall Whale of a Used Book Sale, Jefferson County Fairgrounds. Admission. $12 per adult per day (under 18 and SNAP recipients FREE). Bring Your Own Bag!
October 24 (Saturday) - World Polio Day event hosted by District 5450’s Polio Plus Committee. Please spread the word to other Rotarians and to anyone who loves a good corn hole tournament or a Saturday afternoon with music, food, and beer and other adult beverages. Note that the $40 general admission charge will include tickets/vouchers for $20 worth of food or drink and $20 will be donated to Polio Plus! (flyer attached to bulletin)
