President’s Message

Welcome to the Arvada Rotary – we are happy you have chosen to join us. 

The Arvada Rotary club has been in Arvada for fifty three years.  I am proud to be the fifty third president for the club; the club has a proud history of serving Arvada and the world.  We have had many projects over the years such as park improvement project, and helping with literacy in Arvada.  One thing we do each year is give scholarships to deserving students in the Arvada high schools.  This year we are planning to give away five Harold Carver scholarships totaling $10,000 dollars.  We will also be giving out two Al Kilpatrick vocational scholarships totaling $2000 dollars.  This is a large focus for or group and we fund raise all year to fund these scholarships.

There is a saying that you need to think globally and act locally.  We at the Arvada Rotary club do just that.  We have many projects we help fund all over the world, such as water and sanitation projects on Christmas Island. We also partnered with the Greeley Rotary club to help get clean drinking water in Juarez Mexico.  Our current project starting is a well project in southern Sudan. We have many other items we work on each year so keep checking back to see what is new.  As we raise funds all year through many projects we focus on doing the most good with the funds we raise.

This year we have chose to sponsor a outbound student to study abroad in Finland to complete her second year of high school.  She will live with host families in Finland and be required to learn there language.  The club is set to host an inbound student, we do not know from where yet.  But they will get the experience of a life time because of Rotary.  We also have sponsored an inbound student from Croatia who is attending Ralston Valley high school.
